Love history but you aren\u2019t sure you should pursue it as a major in college? Sure, we all know it\u2019s a tough job market out there, so you may be thinking: I love history, but the domain is just not marketable enough, unless I become a teacher.<\/p>\n

Check out the Enid Hall Griswold Memorial scholarship which is open for college juniors and seniors majoring in fields such as political science, history, government or economics.<\/p>\n

The scholarship is offered by the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and in order to be considered for the $5,000 scholarships, candidates need to obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter. However, you don\u2019t have to be a member of DAR or have any affiliation with the association in order to apply.<\/p>\n

Applying for this application has the student submitting the letter of sponsorship, as well as an unofficial transcript of your academic records so far.<\/p>\n

What about GPA? Does that count for the judging committee? Yes, it will. Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 4.0 if they have any hope of being considered for this award.<\/p>\n

The deadline for the scholarship is February 15, 2018.<\/p>\n
