$60,000 Senacyt Undergraduate Excellence Scholarships, 2021
General information about the scholarship program
The Senacyt Undergraduate Excellence Scholarships, 2021 are aimed at:
a. Panamanian students who have a bachelor’s degree or are studying the last academic period of the last year in a center of secondary education studies at the national level, duly recognized by the competent entity in Panama.
b. Panamanian students who are studying their first year of undergraduate studies (2020-2021) in the universities and subject areas indicated in this announcement, or who have the acceptance to transfer to one of these universities to continue their studies.
Its objective is to strengthen the country in areas of science, technology and research to have a group of professionals with training in centers of excellence and in key areas for the development of the country.
The scholarship will have a maximum duration of five (5) years. The duration of the scholarship will depend on the study plan. In case of being selected, you must begin your studies once you are notified that the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic has endorsed your contract. In case of continuation of studies, payments will begin with the endorsement of your contract by the Comptroller General of the Republic.
This undergraduate scholarship is for Panamanian students.

Who awards the scholarship?
The Government of Panama and the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation – SENACYT.
What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarships of this Program may have an annual allocation of up to Sixty Thousand Balboas with 00/100 (B /. 60,000.00) and the total allocation of the scholarship may not exceed the sum of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Balboas with 00/100 (B /. 250,000.00).
– In case the total amount of the race exceeds B /. 250,000, the scholarship will be partial.
– SENACYT will establish a fund allocation table indicating the amount corresponding to the maintenance stipend according to the country, region and university where the studies are carried out.
– The scale of monetary allocations will be published on the SENACYT website.
– SENACYT may award partial scholarships based on its budget availability.
Application Requirements
- Be Panamanian.
- Have a high academic performance: 2.1. To start the degree, you must present a copy of the credits of the last 3 years of studies. High academic performance is considered a general average of the last 3 years of secondary education of 4.5 / 5.0 or higher, or having completed the studies among the 3 best positions of their class. In addition, they must have a high academic performance in the subjects related to the career to study. 2.2. To continue studies, you must present a copy of the university credits of the first academic period of the first year (2020-2021). A cumulative general average of 3.2 / 4.0 or equivalent is considered high academic achievement.
- Copy of the high school diploma if you have it when you apply.
- Attach the final admission to one of the top 50 universities listed in the Shanghai Ranking, according to the chosen subject area.
- Present the study program to be carried out.
- Complete the budget form.
- Resume.
- Copy of identity card on both sides.
- Essay that describes the impact of the studies for the country (not exceeding a maximum of 3 pages).
- Three (3) signed academic recommendation letters.
- Affidavit of having read and accepted the IFARHU-SENACYT Scholarship Program Regulations.
- Documents issued abroad must be submitted duly legalized (apostilled or by consular means).
- If selected, you must present an authorized public translator and credits must translate a medical certificate of good physical health by a health institution and a certificate of good mental health by a qualified doctor, documents that are not in Spanish and diploma must be authenticated at IFARHU.
